The Crossover by Kwame Alexander is the 2015 Newbery Award Winning Novel. It is a novel written in verse, thus providing many teaching oppportunities to explore a variety of poetic styles. This 16 page unit includes comprehension questions, character analysis, character development timeline as well as pre- and post- writing opportunities.
