After much considered discussion, we have decided to permanently close the forums.

The original goal of the abcteach forums was to provide a place for abcteach users to come together and share ideas about education. I believe that to a great degree, this goal has been regularly met, and I have been pleased to see so many posts from teachers around the globe, and to think that abcteach has been a part of their educational process.

However, in the years since the abcteach forums were opened, the Internet has greatly expanded. There are dozens, probably even hundreds, of great forums and chatrooms now available for people to meet and exchange ideas.

Also, abcteach has expanded, with a larger staff and more material, both on the membership site and the free site. I feel it is necessary for me to concentrate my focus more on the expansion of abcteach itself.

I understand that some of you will be disappointed by this announcement, and I am sorry. However, I believe that the increase in the quality and quantity of educational materials on abcteach, as well as some upcoming and exciting expansions in these areas, will clarify the reasons for my decision.

The tech support forum, as well as our support staff, will remain available to help with any technical problems encountered while using the abcteach site. And, as always, abcteach remains open to your suggestions and feedback.
