Item Description
Book: Trumpet of the Swan - Diary Entry form Use this form to keep a diary like Sam's.
Coloring Page: Christmas Ornament [member-created with abctools] A big Christmas ornament with prompts for kids to draw various Christmas-related pictures. These would make a cute Christmas tree bulletin board, or cut out and use as a shapebook.
Poem Form: Valentine Balloon Write a poem in the heart-shaped balloon.
Project: The Best Vacation Ever (upper elem/middle) This 16 page vacation planner is a great project to help students understand the process of planning and organizing a vacation. Whether plans are for a low-budget camping trip in a nearby state park, or a fantastic voyage to a faraway country, students will have fun planning budgets, etc., with this unit.
Shapebook: Butterfly (Elementary) [member-created document] Trace and cut out. This butterfly-shaped shapebook has prompts for students to answer about butterflies.
Shapebook: Colors (primary/elem) Nine-page crayon box-shaped shapebook, with the text "I like (color)" on each page and blank space to write or draw a picture.
Shapebook: Homeschooling Fun! (primary) This school-shaped shapebook has short texts on each page ("This is me. I am ___ years old"), and space for students to draw illustrations. 11 pages.
Shapebook: My Cat (elementary) Write a book about your cat. Includes writing prompts and lines for writing, as well as space to draw pictures.
Shapebook: My Fish (Primary) [member-created document] Trace and cut out. This fish-shaped shapebook has simple prompts for early readers to answer about their fish.
Shapebook: Pig (primary) Cut out the shapes. There are three pages. The first page is a suggested cover page. Make copies of as many lined and/or unlined pages as you like in order to make a book. Use the lined pages for writing and the unlined pages for drawing/pasting pictures. Staple all the pages together for a great shapebook in the shape of its subject.
Shapebook: Rocket (elementary) [member-created using abctools] Trace and cut out. This rocket-shaped shapebook has a prompt for students to answer about "If I Lived on the Moon."
Shapebook: Star [member-created with abctools] Star shape with simple writing prompt ("I can..."). Trace and cut out, and use to make a shapebook or to decorate the classroom or a bulletin board.
Shapebook: Unicorn Trace and cut out the lined unicorn pattern for a great student shapebook. Three unicorn-shaped pages: cover, lined page and empty unicorn shape.
Story Planner: Animal Story Use this story planner to help you write an animal story.
Story Planner: Country Use this form to plan a story that takes place in the country you are studying.
Unit: Think and Write (upper elem/middle) This unit has several writing prompts that encourage thinking and writing skills. Use alone or in small groups. Great fun! Eighteen pages.
Writing Prompt: Christmas - Dear Santa (elementary) [member-created using abctools] "Hold on to your reindeer, Santa, here it goes - " Write a list of good things you have accomplished this year with this form.

Writing Prompt: Imagine you are a kite... (upper elementary) [member-created using abctools]Four pages of prompts to write imaginatively about life as a kite. Colorful kite illustrations in the borders.
Writing Prompt: Life on the Farm (elementary) Barn-shaped paper with writing prompts about life on the farm, such as "Farmers work hard. They ..."
Writing Prompt: My Goals (elementary) A picture of a football and goal-related writing prompts inside, for example, "My goal in science is ___" or "My personal goal to improve ___"
Writing Prompt: Peace (upper elem) "When I think about peace, I think about..." with an illustration of a dove at the top of the page.
Writing Prompt: Picture Dictionary Skills (elem/upper elem) [member-created with abctools] Scroll-shaped shapebook with picture dictionary skill-related writing prompts such as "translate the words from the dictionary into your language" or "choose ten words and write one sentence for each word."
Writing Prompt: Valentine Similes "___ is as sweet as ___." Use this paper, with hearts in the surrounding border and sentence prompts, to write a Valentine's poem.
